A Classification Tree to Identify Factors Affecting Temporomandibular Disorders

To examine the effects of stress, bruxism, malocclusion, and oral habits on incidence temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) using a classification tree method (CTM). We obtained data from total 1.338 patients: 669 who had TMDs but haven’t TMDs. recorded interview stress habits, during examination, noted malocclusions, any sign poor habits. All were subjected to CTM analyses. The TMD rate was highest in stressed patients (96.8%), significantly lower stress-free (25.3%) (P < 0.001). evident all exhibiting both bruxism (100.0%). In lacking malocclusion significant analyses showed that most factor affecting followed by malocclusion. This is first report use define factors TMD.
